Labiaplasty - correction of the inner lips of the vagina
Labiaplasty is an aesthetic and functional surgical intervention to reduce the inner labia, resolving physical discomfort and restoring intimate confidence.
What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty (reduction of the inner lips) is a routine aesthetic and functional surgical procedure designed to correct the shape, symmetry, and size of enlarged or unevenly positioned inner vaginal lips (labia minora). This procedure is highly popular worldwide due to the significant relief and restored confidence it provides.
Why undergo a Labiaplasty?
Enlarged labia are frequently not just an aesthetic concern, but a functional hindrance. An increasing number of women opt for this surgical intervention for numerous reasons:
- Uncomfortable sexual intercourse or completely painful intimacy.
- Lack of self-confidence during intimate contact due to the size or shape of the labia.
- Discomfort during physical or sports activities (such as running or cycling).
- A feeling of discomfort when wearing tight clothing like swimwear, leggings, or jeans.
- Difficulties in maintaining daily personal hygiene.
- A desire for a more aesthetically pleasing vulvar appearance.
Preparation for the Procedure
Preoperative preparation actively begins with a detailed consultation and examination by your gynecologist. During this appointment, the doctor will carefully listen to your concerns, assess the condition, and propose the optimal surgical approach tailored exactly to your anatomy and preferences.
Recovery after Labiaplasty
Recovery usually proceeds smoothly and without complications, though it requires ample rest during the early postoperative period. For the first few days, you may experience moderate swelling, but this naturally subsides with prescribed therapy and the application of cold compresses. A mild feeling of tension resolves gracefully as the tissues heal.

Patients often ask
The surgery itself is performed under anesthesia, making it completely painless. Post-operation discomfort is mild to moderate and easily managed with standard painkillers.
Most patients return to light daily activities within a few days. However, a pause of 4 to 6 weeks is recommended before resuming vigorous sports or sexual intercourse.
Incisions are made highly precisely and sutured with special dissolvable threads, so scars fade over time and become virtually unnoticeable, blending with natural folds.
A correctly performed surgery preserves nerve endings, thereby not decreasing natural sensitivity or sexual pleasure. In fact, by removing functional hindrances, comfort and sensation may even improve.
It is recommended to wait approximately 6 weeks before engaging in sexual intercourse again. This ensures complete tissue healing and minimizes the risk of infection or injury.
