Removal of Synechiae (Asherman's Syndrome)

Removal of Synechiae (Asherman's Syndrome)

Releasing intrauterine adhesions (Asherman's syndrome) that cause absent periods using microscopic techniques to restore fertility.

What are synechiae?

Synechiae are intra-uterine adhesions acting like a spider web of scar tissue binding the uterine walls together. They can be very discreet or extremely dense (severe Asherman's syndrome).

Technique for freeing the cavity

The surgeon must be extremely careful to use the finest micro-scissors (mechanically) and avoid excessive electric current. The filaments of scar tissue are progressively cut to release the uterine 'chamber' to its full diameter.
